Simple Steps to perform Exchange migration using EdbMails
Step 1: Install and Launch EdbMails
- Download and install EdbMails Exchange Migration tool on a Windows system.
- Launch the EdbMails application on your computer.
- Enter your registered email ID and password and click ‘Login’. If you are a new user, select ‘Start Your Free Trial’ to continue with the trial version.Note: The trial edition includes all main features and allows migration of up to 30 items per folder. For unlimited migration, purchase an Exchange Migration license from the official EdbMails website.

After purchasing the license, close the application and open it again. Then log in with the same email ID and password used during the purchase to activate your license successfully.
- Choose ‘Live Exchange Migration’ → ‘Live Exchange to Live Exchange Migration’.
- To set a custom name for the job, click the ‘New Job’ button and enter the name you prefer. If you don’t want to change it, you can continue with the default job name already provided.
Step 2: Connect to source Exchange server
- Click ‘Add New Connection’ to set up the source Exchange connection or select a saved one.
- Choose the appropriate connection method and enter the server details to log in.
- Load mailboxes automatically or via CSV if more than 100 are present.
Step 3: Select mailboxes for migration
- Choose the mailboxes or folders you want to migrate.
- Click ‘Next’ to proceed.
Step 4: Connect to target Exchange server
- Click ‘Add New Connection’ or select an existing target Exchange connection.
- After successful authentication, select one of the following options to load the mailboxes:
i) Load Mailboxes Automatically: After signing in, EdbMails automatically loads and displays the available mailboxes, making the configuration process simple. Due to Microsoft API limitations, only up to 100 mailboxes may be displayed. If your environment has more than 100 mailboxes, use the alternative option below.
ii) Load Mailboxes using CSV file: If the automatic option does not display all mailbox names, choose ‘Load Mailboxes using .CSV file’ to load the required mailboxes.
iii) Load Mailboxes from previous list: This option allows you to quickly access the mailbox list that was saved and imported during your previous session.
- Select ‘Load Mailboxes Automatically’ and click ‘Next’ to proceed.
Step 5: Map source and target mailboxes
- Choose a mapping option or let EdbMails map mailboxes automatically.
- If EdbMails is installed on the target server, enable automatic mailbox creation.
Step 6: Start Exchange to Exchange migration
- Click ‘Start Migration’ to begin the process. Monitor progress in real time.
- Once complete, click ‘View Logs’ for detailed migration reports.
- Log in to the target Exchange server to verify migrated items.
