Advanced settings and options for Exchange migration

EdbMails Exchange migration software equips with advanced filters, offering complete control over your migration process. These filters allow you to customize data transfer based on specific criteria such as date range, subject keywords, sender and recipient addresses, attachment names, and message status (read or unread). You can also exclude both standard and custom folders, ensuring that only the most relevant data is migrated.

Whether you're performing a staged migration or a complete migration in one go, these filters help streamline the process by allowing you to prioritize critical data, reduce migration size, and optimize performance.

Split PST during Exchange to PST export operation

To manage large Exchange mailboxes effectively, EdbMails offers a ‘Split PST’ feature that allows you to split PST files during export. You can customize the size of each PST file, choosing from 1GB to 100GB. The application programmatically segments the PST file according to your specifications, and by default, it creates a separate PST file for each individual mailbox.

Enable the Split PST file feature

Choose folder types to Include

You have the option to customize which folder types are included in your migration. While all folder types are selected by default, you can refine your choices to focus on specific categories like emails, contacts, calendars, or tasks. This tailored approach ensures that only the most relevant data is migrated.

Choose folder types

Exclude standard folders

The 'Exclude Standard/Custom Folders' feature enables you to personalize your migration by designating specific default folders that should not be migrated to the target Exchange server.

Click 'Exclude Standard/Custom Folders'

By default, folders such as 'Deleted Items,' 'Conversation History,' and 'Junk Email' are excluded from the Exchange migration. Additionally, you have the option to exclude other standard folders, allowing you to further customize your migration and focus only on essential data.

Exclude standard folders

Exclude custom folders

You can easily exclude custom folders from your migration by entering the folder name and clicking the 'Add' button. Once you confirm your selections by clicking 'OK', the chosen folders will be excluded from the migration process.

Exclude custom folders

Save the settings by clicking the ‘Save’ button.
