    • Determine the size of the data and the number of mailboxes you want to migrate.
    • Make a list of all the data and permissions from the AWS Workmail that you want to transfer.
    • Create appropriate user mailboxes on Office 365 and assign licenses to them.
    • Ensure you have enough network capacity and bandwidth to migrate.
    • Communicate the migration plan and flow to your end users.
  2. AWS Workmail to Office 365 migration prerequisites

    1. Prepare the necessary details such as your IMAP server hostname, port number, email address, and password before starting the migration.
    2. For migrating multiple users, download the sample CSV file from the EdbMails application, then update the file with the IMAP server hostname, port number, email address, and password for each user's mailbox you wish to migrate.

  3. Steps to migrate AWS WorkMail to Office 365 using EdbMails

      • Step 1: Download and install EdbMails IMAP migration software

        • Download and set up the EdbMails application on your Windows computer
        • Launch the application and choose either ‘Login’ or ‘Start Your Free Trial’ to get started.

      • Step 2: Connect to source AWS WorkMail server

        • To connect to a single user account, select ‘Single User / Account Migration’. Then, either choose the correct IMAP hostname from the list or enter it manually. After that, provide the email address and password.

        • Choose the appropriate method for secure OAuth-based modern authentication. The default ‘Auto Registration’ method requires Global Admin access. Alternatively, with the ‘Manual Registration’ method, you can use either a Global Admin account or any user account that has full access rights.
