How to Enable IMAP in Gmail for Email Migration

Before starting your Gmail or G Suite migration to or from IMAP, Office 365, Exchange, or PST using EdbMails, make sure IMAP access is enabled in your gmail account settings. Enabling IMAP allows EdbMails to securely connect to your Gmail mailbox and migrate emails, folders, and other data without interruptions. Follow the steps below to enable IMAP and prepare your Gmail account for a smooth migration process.

Steps to Enable IMAP in Gmail

  1. Log in to your Gmail or Google Workspace account.
  2. Click the Settings (⚙️) icon on the top right corner and select ‘See all settings’.

  3. Go to the ‘Forwarding and POP/IMAP’ tab.

  4. Enable ‘POP for all mail’ and ‘IMAP access’ options as shown in the screenshot below, and then click Save Changes to apply the settings.
