Uninstall EdbMails from Windows
Use the Windows uninstall process when you no longer need EdbMails on a migration computer or when support specifically recommends a clean reinstall. Uninstalling the application removes the installed program, but it does not delete mailbox data from the source or target mail server. Review local logs, configuration files, and exported PST files separately before removing anything else from the computer.
Before Uninstalling EdbMails
Before removing EdbMails from the migration computer:
- Complete or pause active migration/export jobs and review the latest migration report.
- Close EdbMails completely before starting the uninstall process.
- Keep any reports, local configuration information, or exported PST files that your organization still requires.
- If you plan to reinstall EdbMails, note the current version and migration job details first so you can verify the environment after reinstallation.
On Windows 11, the current Settings path is Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps. On Windows 10, the wording can appear as Apps & features. The screenshots below may reflect an earlier Windows layout, but the uninstall action is the same.
- Open Start and select Settings.
- Open Apps.
- On Windows 11, choose Installed apps. On Windows 10, choose
Apps & features.
- Search for EdbMails in the installed application list.
- Open the EdbMails app options and choose Uninstall.
- Follow the Windows and EdbMails uninstall prompts until the application has
been removed, then restart the computer only if Windows or the uninstaller asks
you to do so.
Alternative: Uninstall EdbMails from Control Panel
If EdbMails is not available in the Windows Settings uninstall list or you prefer the classic desktop-program interface, use Control Panel.
- Make sure active migration/export jobs are completed or paused.
- Close EdbMails.
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Programs > Programs and Features.
- Select EdbMails.
- Choose Uninstall or Uninstall/Change.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
After uninstalling
If you are performing a clean reinstall, download the current installer from the official EdbMails download page and review the current system requirements before reinstalling. Do not delete exported PST files or migration reports merely because the application has been removed.
