Where to install

For Offline OST recovery and migration, install EdbMails on any windows machine.

  1. You can access the OST file in the network by sharing it and you need to provide read and write access to the OST file share.
  2. Any client workstation connection to target server.

We recommend that you use at least a quad-core CPU with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM.

Size on disk after installation

Size of the installation file

  • Installation of additional components (like .NET framework) 100 MB of available disk space.
  • The application doesn't store the data, being migrated at any temp location on your local disk.
  • Meta-data for Incremental check will be of the minimal size required.
  • EdbMails requires an Internet connection ONLY to authenticate your login credentials and to verify the number of available and used mailboxes licenses. In addition, you may require the Internet connection to migrate your Office 365 mailbox data.
To Export to PST

You need to install Outlook: MS Outlook: 2019 / 2016 / 2013 / 2010 / 2007

Target server requirements:

Migration to any version of Exchange Server starting from Exchange 2007 supported

  • Hosted Exchange Server

Note: To export to Office 365 or to Exchange server no need to install MS outlook.

Admin account rights
  • Appropriate Office 365 account credentials should be provided for the connection.
  • Should be mailbox-enabled (An Office 365 license should be assigned)
  • Must have a UPN address configured
  • The below roles should be assigned:
    • ApplicationImpersonation
    • View-Only Recipients
    • View-Only Configuration
    • User management administrator/Global administrator
    • For the Public folder migration needs to assign public folder for the required user.
