Steps to perform EDB to Live Exchange Server Migration for Exchange Server 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019

Note:
1. If the login through administrator user fails then try to impersonate any other User.
2. Make sure the impersonated user account has impersonation permissions to each associated Mailbox (Users). That's, impersonated user should have impersonation permissions to all associated Mailboxes.

Execute the below commands on your Exchange Management Shell (Run as Administrator)

Step 1:

Command: Copy & Paste it on EMS

Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

Result:
live-admin-account

Step 2:

Command: Copy & Paste it on EMS

Enable-OrganizationCustomization

Ignore this results, if the error is "This operation is not required. Organization is already enabled for customization."

Result:
live-enable-organization

Step 3:

Command: Copy & Paste it on EMS & change User

New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role "ApplicationImpersonation" -User administrator

Result:
live-management-roles

liveexchange-list-mailboxes

If you are able to view all the live exchange user accounts, click the “Continue To Mailbox Mapping” button

or

In List of Mailboxes, if you are missing the Mailbox names, then execute the below Exchange Management Shell (EMS) commands to generate the CSV file.

Command: Copy & Paste it on EMS & change CSV file path

Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Select-Object PrimarySmtpAddress | export-csv "C:\Mailbox_Names.csv"

Result

 verify-csv

Verify the generated CSV file, check for the missing mailboxes.


 liveexchange-load-csv

Click the “Load Mailboxes From CSV File” button


 choose-csv

Select the generated CSV file


 liveexchange-list-mailboxes


 Click the “Continue To Mailbox Mapping” button


 live-map-mailboxes


 Now you can map the source mailboxes to targeted user account.
